RE: the most noob question of all....
I used a paper clip on my GT and threw the arm out the window that way i can slam on the brakes without killing the engine bc the paper clip wont tear the carb arm off or close it all the way. it shouldnt close all the way anyways, it doesnt. I just disconect the fuel line from the tank very simple and when it dies i just put it back on, alot better then just pinching the line or taking the air filter off (if yours has zip ties like mine). Seems to work well as for not killing the engine or tearing the carb arm off. as for killing the engine. I WOULD not cover the Tuned pipe as someone said it can break your con rod from the mass amounts of fuel raming into the carb causeig it to have a nice little burst of speed Which leaves a nice burn on your arms from the tires spinning out when your holding it.
