I too just started flying my first gasser. You will love it.
The only thing that got me was landing. I spent several years flying 40's so when it came to a big one I was flying to the next county on final. Just a visual thing.
I dont know about the edge but on my Columbo extra the stall is hard to feel. The first landing I had it comming in nice and smooth, at about 8ft it droped like letting go of a lead brick. Luckily just inches off the deck I put just enough power not to pancake it. Turned out to be a smooth landing but about needed to change my shorts.
So remember to stall it a couple times to get the feel for it. Up high enough to catch it of course.
