Well, After what seemed like forever, I am finally going to maiden my 28% Edge tomorrow. MAN.....AM I NERVOUS!!!I have a pretty good idea of what to expect from reading the posts here since I first had an interest in this plane. Nothing can totally prepare you, though, until the plane is in the air. But thats part of the fun
. This is my first gasser....and only my third season flying. I have no doubt that this plane will fly awesome and is within my realm of skills. Everyone at my club agrees that even with this short time under my belt that I am a natural......I'll take their word for it because I'm not cocky that way
. The only thing that has me a bit anxious is the fact that I have'nt flown since last summer. I'm breakin' into this season with this plane. I have however been flying the crap out of G3....just about every day since the end of last season so that should've helped me keep the "feel". I've double and triple checked all hardware and linkages, locktited everything that could be locktited, tuned my motor, checked all throws and geometry, balanced prop and hub, balanced plane at a tad less than 4 3/4", servo screws have been locktited and a dab of red RTV silicone over the screw head just to be sure they weren't backing out, range checked the plane off and running at 100' ...no issues noticed. I will range check it again at the field tomorrow both off and running to make sure the air is "clean" there too. All in all, I think I'm ready. This forum has been a source of much need info. To everyone....THANK YOU. Wish me luck

Good luck Cap.
I too just started flying my first gasser. You will love it.
The only thing that got me was landing. I spent several years flying 40's so when it came to a big one I was flying to the next county on final.
Just a visual thing.
I dont know about the edge but on my Columbo extra the stall is hard to feel. The first landing I had it comming in nice and smooth, at about 8ft it droped like letting go of a lead brick. Luckily just inches off the deck I put just enough power not to pancake it. Turned out to be a smooth landing but about needed to change my shorts.
So remember to stall it a couple times to get the feel for it. Up high enough to catch it of course.
Let us know how it goes and what ya think.

Well....all I can say is WOW!!! I flew her yesterday, and it came home without a scratch
Talk about the shakes! I had one of my trusted field buddies stand with me in the event something went wrong but I didn't need him other than for support. I however only got to fly it once though, it was a bit breezy for a maiden...especially after a year downtime....thank god for sims, it let me keep the feel. But it just doesn't give you quite the pucker factor as the real thing
. All I did was fly laps to get the feel. Amazingly it only required one click up elevator....nothing else. CG was between 4 1/2 and 4 3/4". Talk about a very effective elevator. Had it at the recommended low rate setting and was still SUPER touchy with even -30% expo (futaba). I need to either tone down the throw abit more or add alot more expo until I can fly it without crushing the transmitter and shaking so much my teeth rattle and my vision is blurred
Even got to watch another guy put his second flight on his Widhare Edge. We're the only 2 club members with a Wildhare...but everyone that saw the planes and saw them fly were TOTALLY impressed....I can tell they will breed like wild bunnies
Can't wait to get it in the air again!!!

One thing you can bet on...they will breed! It would be interesting to see how Tom's sales numbers come out compared to other companies out there. We'll be seeing 'Hares everywhere!

I'd like to see that also, I've always been curious how much other companies sell. Unfortunately nobody wants to disclose this and we are all too small to be public companies forced to disclose it. So we'll all go on guessing.
For our part we are doing well, and as the product line fills out and the warehouse fills up things keep getting better. By next spring we will have planes in all classes from 1.20 glow up to a new world class 41% all composite aerobat.
