The CF pipes do heat differently -seen that -
So does a steel pipe vs a aluminum one - seen that too-
Properly designed - no reason CF pipe will not do job -Maybe not same size/shape - but one that will work.
Unlessyou have tried the various combos -first hand -you can't appreciate the differences from size header used , internal pressure ( extremely important -tho no one mentions it ) and exterior heat radiation .
As for the theory pages on pipes I have read for models - fooey.
They simply discuss theoretical lengths for matching rpm .
Basic stuff at best.
You don't learn much about pipes from most text books -you learn from working with pipes -
They are very interesting devices -which can be far different in shape/size than one might imagine.
