Default Website/formula for 2-stroke pipes

Can somebody direct me to a website with the formula and drawings of 2-stroke tuned pipes. I may try to make my own in carbon fiber if it looks like a viable thing to do.
Thanks,
DKjens

Here's an online Java calculator.
http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/javapipe_en.htm

This might also be of interest. Download helmholtz.exe
http://home.wanadoo.nl/pereivers/Goodies.html

Personally, I am not inclined to spend the time and money to try and research the right resins, methods, shapes etc. I get little flying time as it is.

I will be using the carbon pipe from [link=http://www.escomposites.com/]ES Composites[/link] for a ZDZ 40 and will be getting one for 50cc also.

For larger engines I am using the KS full length tuned pipes. Excellent performance and the 1080 pipe is almost the same weight as the shorter cannister setups, but more power.

That [link=http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/index.htm]on line java calculator [/link] deserves a recognition. This is one of the few websites that I ever have visited which contains a serious approach to most airplane model topics: Prop design, pipe design, etc. Take a look at his home page and related links. Of course successfully making a CF pipe from scratch will also deserve more than a recognition.

Respectfully for aerobear; keep flying (or building) your RC planes, congratulations.

By the other hand hope to see one day the Petrol CF version from [link=http://www.escomposites.com/]ES Composites[/link], do you know if anyone else is trying CF pipes for large 2 stroke engines (50's, 80's end beyond)?

hint- aerobear ain't 94--
Ed does have a gas engine tuned pipe - I am running it.-on the ROTO 25-it stays extremely cool.

I am not a model airplane pilot so dont shoot me down in flames ( pun intended)
BUt my experience with making two stroke pipes has lead me to discover that a carbon pipe will be about 30% down on a stainless one in hp
This is because the carbon soaks up the sonic wave where the satinless doesnt

The CF pipes do heat differently -seen that -
So does a steel pipe vs a aluminum one - seen that too-
Properly designed - no reason CF pipe will not do job -Maybe not same size/shape - but one that will work.
Unlessyou have tried the various combos -first hand -you can't appreciate the differences from size header used , internal pressure ( extremely important -tho no one mentions it ) and exterior heat radiation .
As for the theory pages on pipes I have read for models - fooey.
They simply discuss theoretical lengths for matching rpm .
Basic stuff at best.
You don't learn much about pipes from most text books -you learn from working with pipes -
They are very interesting devices -which can be far different in shape/size than one might imagine.

Yes i have tried making my own pipes it not the length i am talking about
because the different heat they run at can be countered by changing the length of the pipe to get the sonic wave timing right

Its the reflective properties of carbon versus stainless that kills the power
alloy is better than carbon but not as good as stainless

The down side is the ping ping nosie that stainless tends to make over carbon
but thats the reflection you are after thats making the noise

Carbon will work i agree
But in my experience with pipes it does not make as hp as stainless( but of course its lighter)
