Default advice on mounting throttle servo pushrod

I have a converted Stihl mounted on an Ultra Stick Lite and was looking for advice on how to run the cable, linkage from the servo to the throttle. My throttle arm on the carb ended up at a rather [:'(] angle to the fuse, but I think it will work ok. My question I guess is do you keep the return spring on the carb or ditch it and use a push pull link. If I do keep it should I use a hi torque servo? Seems like a waste of juice... I've heard not to use metal around the carb as well so whats the best way? wish I could show a pic, sorry...
