I agree, a foamy is the way to go. It’s a great way to get your feet wet in 3D and the cost is small. The foamy’s fly super slow and are tolerant of minor crashes and for the most part, they are easy to repair if drove in hard. I would recommend trying the www.3dfoamy.com as well.
