Default Looking for .25 pylon ideas.

There is a local club doing .25 size pylon racing. Limited to box stock, .25, stock muffler, no racing engines. Is the .25FX going to be the choice? And now for the fun part...Anything goes for the plane, as long as it can idle on the run-way, and take off by itself. Some are chopping Viper wings down a few inches, some use them stock. I would like some tips on a scratch build, conventional tail plane. I could use my Viper dimensions, and say, reduce them by 20 percent? Or, scale an Ace S400 up some? Wing span around 40-44 inches, root around 8-8.5 inches? Fuse length around 16" Maybe MH22 airfoil? Looking for any tips, or measurement ideas. I'm just guessing on all I've written so far, no real world experience designing what might be a fast plane, so I need help....
