Default Telebee 701 and 6xa setup

I have been flying with a cirrus piezo gyro and have had little trouble flying. Someone suggested to me to buy the telebee heading hold so I did and I bought the high speed 925mg hitec servo. I tried hooking it up but I'm not really sure how it works. Once you start to lift off into a hover does the heading hold keep your tail straight? I have inhibited all my revo and stuff on the radio and the servo use to drift once I placed it in heading hold so I adjusted the sub trim on it and now it stays put, is this the proper way? Another thing is with my heli I constantly have to move the throttle up and down one click or another, it wont stay at one altitude without constantly moving the stick up and down. There isn't a whole lot of features on this 6XA radio. I have flown fixed wings for many years and now I decided to take up heli's and there isn't anyone in the area with heli's.
Thanks for any help,
Jason
