I have been flying with a cirrus piezo gyro and have had little trouble flying. Someone suggested to me to buy the telebee heading hold so I did and I bought the high speed 925mg hitec servo. I tried hooking it up but I'm not really sure how it works. Once you start to lift off into a hover does the heading hold keep your tail straight? I have inhibited all my revo and stuff on the radio and the servo use to drift once I placed it in heading hold so I adjusted the sub trim on it and now it stays put, is this the proper way? Another thing is with my heli I constantly have to move the throttle up and down one click or another, it wont stay at one altitude without constantly moving the stick up and down. There isn't a whole lot of features on this 6XA radio. I have flown fixed wings for many years and now I decided to take up heli's and there isn't anyone in the area with heli's.
Thanks for any help,
Jason

The throttle thing sounds about right! How high are you hovering? If you are lower to the ground the heli might be disturbing the air too much. I would try to hover it a bit higher and see if it helps. No matter what you are almost constantly moving the sticks.
I too have a Telebee and had many questions at first. I set mine up by setting up the HH first, and then physically adjusting the tail rod linkage for non HH mode. I found that if you switch from HH to Non HH and the tail drifts you can't correct it with your trim because it will wack off your HH setting so you have to adjust the rod length on the tail. I have heard that it is harder to take off and land in HH mode soI have never tried it. I usually start in Non HH mode until I am hovering and then switch to HH mode and idle up with the same switch. When I come in to land I flip the switch back to Normal and non HH modes. THe 6ax might not have the feature to allow you to set two modes on one switch? This is just the way I found easiest to fly. You and others may not. I have only been flying for a year and I am always open to suggestions. One other suggestion is to make sure your Telebee has the foam padding inside the case to save it from breaking during flight!

I have a Telebee 701 and Futaba T6XHs. When I connect the rud servo to the Gyro, the servo will move only to one direction, i.e., it only moves when the stick moves to the left. When I move the transmitt's rud stick to the right, the servo doesn't act! There's no linkage problem, and the servo is in good condition. I got the 701 gyro from 2nd hand. Where can I find the user's instruction for this gyro?
thanks for any help!

I hooked up my telebee to my heli and in non heading hold I centered my linkage so my tail blades were centered, then I switched over to heading hold and the servo started to drift, I then used my sub trim to trim it out so when I switched back and forth from heading hold to non heading hold it stayed in one place. You have to inhibit all revo functions on the radio. I was really afraid my first flight but I took off in heading hold and it worked very well. Another thing you have to remember is to make sure you turn the transmitter on first then the receiver. you can go to www.hhiheli.com and there is a link there to show you the exact instructions you get when you buy the telebee.

Thanks Cowboy and Raydee!
One more stupid question: what direction should I install the sensor? - with the two arrows pointing to head and tail or to left and right?
Thanks again.

I am almost 100% positive that the direction doesn't matter on the telebee. I have changed mine a few times both ways and there is no difference. But to be safe I have mine mounted with the arrows right to left.

I have mine mounted the same way as Ray, with the arrows going to the side but I have read in a few places on the setup that it doesnt matter which way you mount it.

I can't believe that I got those useful tips from you guys so far away in the other part of the world! Guess where I am? I'm in Beijing, the capital of People's Republic of China! Here's a sunny afternoon, while I think you are in mid-night!
So, if the direction doen's matter, I assume that the sensor will sense the speed changing from all directions. Then when the Heli is accelerating to the forth or back, the sensor will also trim the tail rotor, is that true? Just curious...

DON'T COME IN HERE AND TELL ME YOUR IN THE SUN WHILE AFTER ALMOST A WEEK IN THE RAIN AND POOR ME OUT TRYING TO FLY IN IT. Im still not positive on how this gyro works but I have seen how it holds the tail locked in the air. I think once you get it going you will really like it. you don't have to concentrate on the rudder as much anymore and just spend time with the throttle and your cyclics. Today I couldn't resist so I took my nexus out and flew her a few times and even in the tough winds it held the tail locked. well good luck Wang

Oh I don't stay on all night, I just leave my computer on all the time. I broke my back a year ago so I have lots of spare time on my hands.

Flying Cowboy,
Concering your hover and up 1 click and down 1 click. You can remove the back of your radio and defeat the "click" mechanism. Then your throttle will be smooth, this does help when hovering. I have done this on several JR radios that I set up for friends and it helped on the up/down controls.
Jason, did you get ahold of the manual for the 783 yet? my offer still stands I can snail mail you the heli section

Skyking, I put a piece of fuel tubing over the click mechanism and it helped out a lot, and yes I got that copy of the manual from Horizon, or I should say they said they mailed it out. Thanks for the offer I really appreciated it. I did figure out the 783 enough to fly and I like the JR way better so I ordered a few more receivers for that radio.
Thanks,
Jason
