RE: Goldberg Tiger 2 ARF
Tiger 2 is a very nice 2nd plane. I like the longer wing compared to a lot of 2nd type planes and the longer length makes the plane very easy to control. It has a wide speed range and is aerobatic as well. One thing to watch for on the ARF is that the hole for the throttle cable is pre-drilled in the wrong spot (unless they corrected that). Not a big deal, just seal it with a drop of epoxy and redrill in the right spot. The kit is set up so that you can make it either a trike gear or as a taildragger if you buy your own main gear. I would suggest makeing it a tail dragger. Its a lot easier to set up and no main wheel assembly to get bent. Another advantage of the tail dragger setup, the plane will rest on the main wheels and the tail wheel with out needing the wing attached because the main landing gear is on the fuselage just ahead of the wing saddle. Makes it easier to transport. Good engine choice would be the OS 46AX. Stick a 11-5 APC prop on it and hang on! A 10-7 would also work well. I have an ASP Super 52 which is extremly powerful but is finicky for the first 5-6 tanks. If you want an easy to adjust no nonsense engine that puts out good power right out of the box, go with the OS. If you are good with engines and have patience then you might want to try the ASP. I have both so talking from experience here.[8D]
