At this very moment I am fooling around on this forum while the fumes clear out of my shop from my evening primer applications. I use Plastikote lacquer primer from a spay can, and it works fine.

The finish coat is acrylic lacquer, NOT from a can. I use my spray rig for that, but I suppose you could use lacquer from a can just as well. I did get a can of clear lacquer which I plan to experimen with for a clear coat. It is MUCH cheaper than the PPG clear coat I used last time, and just may look OK. I'll find out when I try it.
