RE: LST
Yes.. it is my first monster truck however I have experienced other trucks... namely a Mammoth, T-Maxx, Mini-T, RC18t, and a Stampede. My experiences with the LST and Savage 25 were only from watching... not driving them... I studied long and hard for 2 months figuring out which truck to buy. I wasn't concerned with price... just wanted the best truck I could find. At the time my friend had a Mammoth... and I knew I didn't want that. I was looking at an X-factor and ALMOST bought one until I went to my LHS and they had a Revo sitting on the counter. I was sold from there... I did my online research... watched this forum (the Traxxas Subforum) for a few weeks... and went and bought 2 of them (one for me.. one for wife) Wife's only got about 1/2 gallon before she got pregnant (of course 1/4 of that was from me and my friends)... and can't stand the smell of burning nitro... so, I sold it... now that you have my complete story... here's the break-down (taken from my website)
Shock rod ends & shaft(2) - $1
Spur Gear (2) - $6
Front A-arm set (2) 1 free replacement ... one $6 from online source
Rear A-arm set (1) - $6 from online source
Reverse gear (optidrive sensor gear) Just took it out... - $0
Bent a turnbuckle (bent it back) - $0
PRO-1 rocker arm - Switched to LT's.. Free mod - $0
Rear Differential - Replaced by Traxxas - $0
EZ-Start case (landed upside down from 10 ft. high on asphalt) - $10
Now, let's do the math... 1+6+6+6+10= $29 ... which is UNDER $30
Everything else was an upgrade... and did not need to be replaced, I just did it for fun... (2.5r was still running... and pretty well, I might add... even with the scored sleeve) Motor mount came with the new engine... P2's were an upgrade from the LT's... Wheels and tires and body are getting ready to be replaced after almost 3 gallons of use... and hard bashing to boot...
