RE: Begin-Air Comments
Okay gents,
I guess it is my turn to weigh in on the whole Begin-Air/Sportster issue.
Firstly, my Radio, Battery pack (and a couple of other things) specifically say "Art-Tech". So, yes, I believe B-A is simply an imported & rebadged Sportser.
Secondly, (frustratingly ) Parkflyers.com (VERY slow with correspondence and support ) charges $175 for this bird while RCExpert.com only charges $109!
After all that I am pleased with this bird.
TAPE: Strapping tape (with the threads in it) the length of the bottom of the wing. Clear Packing tape (not celophane) (something durable light and clear) along the trailing edge from the inboard side of one Aileron to the other (prevent the prop from chewing up too much wing if it shifts on a crash). More of the clear along the majority of the leading edge to provide protection to the foam against dings.
I too would like to make some changes to it... It does seem to have adequate power to fly more than 'on-the-wing', it is not by much. It has NO vertical capability , and much more of its aerobatic capabilities are stunted mainly by its power . What are your thoughts on the following: Replacing the wing joiner with one with less dihedral; Larger (stronger) motor; Larger (or more aggressive pitch) prop; Larger (greater MaH) battery pack; Different tail feathers (more like a CAP); Different Landing Gear (stronger) (Original LG is weak!). You have already begun discussing what the ESC can handle...
Would you have any ideas for a different 4CH wing that would fly this bird, but have some taper (leading or trailing edge) for better aerobatics...
Thanks for letting me weigh-in on this bird!
