Default What Is The Proper Break-in For A Irvine .46 Abc Mkiii Engine ?

I have an Irvine .53.
just mount the engine on the plane and make sure that the fuel lines are ok, open the needle valve 1 3/4 of a turn then prime it by turning the prop with the throttle full open, close the throttle just below 1/4 put your glow starter and start the engine.
Once it starts lean the mixture to increase full power and hold for a couple of minutes, then let it down to idle an select your idel speed.
Turn it of and let it cool, the repeat the process but run next time for 5 min full throttle but not overly leas, just a bit on the rich side.
Let *** cool, then refill the tank and start it again recheck the idle and full throttle mixtures, don't let it go too lean leave two or three clicks on the lean side. after you ran the 2nd tank and the settings are ok you can go flying
My .53 starts with a chicken stick (flipped backwards) on the first try.. hope your .46 does so.
They're sweet running engines!!
Regards,
patrick
