I have installed 8611's in the F-100F I'm building for someone as well. In addition, I've fitted HD metal arms on the servos which required ball link connections. The ball links in turn, required that the servos be moved further apart to keep the two arms from touching. It was a bit of fiddling, but it went in OK - definately not a "butcher" job, just a little shaving here, a little extra ply doubler there...
