5 bucks for aluminum gear? Not sure where that came from but you don't want to use the aluminum gear with floats. The stock aluminum gear is marginal to begin with and most people opt for the tetherite optional gear which we can package with the Katanas. I'd use the the tetherite gear for teh front normal position and use maybe the aluminum for the rear supports. That way most of your gear strength would be in the front.
