Has anyone put their profile on floats? I'll use an OS50sx and Falcon Trading or Foam Floats. Any recommendations on a 3d profile would be appreciated.

It's been done lots of times and it's VERY easy. Just use 2 pair of profile gear (tetherite or williams gear) and attach to floats.
Now on some profiles you may want to cut out a piece in the fuse to put a hardwood block somewhere for the back gear. Unless you find some wood to use to mount them.
You don't have to go any extrmemes like the Red/White/Blue plane, that's an 80"er.

50 SX? I am planning on putting my Accel Katana GS .40 size on floats. I think the lightest floats you can get for a 50 SX powered profile would be the Zeedoo floats:

Get the smallest, 27" one, which will support up to 4.9 lb. My Katana .40 weighs 4 lb. 4 oz before floats. So if you add 5 oz. x 2 = 10 oz, you are still within the weight range.

5 bucks for aluminum gear? Not sure where that came from but you don't want to use the aluminum gear with floats. The stock aluminum gear is marginal to begin with and most people opt for the tetherite optional gear which we can package with the Katanas. I'd use the the tetherite gear for teh front normal position and use maybe the aluminum for the rear supports. That way most of your gear strength would be in the front.
