Nice thread! I am looking to convert a Great Planes Corair. It is 2.5-3lbs and is called their combat corsair. 340 sqr in. for a 17-20 oz/sqft. I was planning to use 550motor and 2:1 gear box from Great Planes Super Sportster as it is a 3.25lb plane with 383sq in so oz/sqft should be favorable in the Corsair. Any thoughts? Think it will fly? Using 3cell 2100 thunder power in Super sportster and don't need more than 1/2 throttle to fly and motor is barely warm to touch after.
