I converted my 4.5 pound Modeltech Magic to electric with many power systems. One that I tried was a 550 motor geared 2.5:1. It flew and could do loops and rolls but was slow with a low climb rate. I had to use a 16x10 prop to get it off the ground and a 10 cell nimh 1950 AUP pack. I think it drew 28 Amps.

You may want to try direct drive and an 8x4 prop. A Corsair will need speed to fly because of the thin wing. If you are tossing the plane, this may work. Make sure your battery can take the amps.

I tried a geared and DD 550 motor in my Extra and couldn't get off the ground.

If all else fails try a brushless Jeti system. In the long run it is cheaper. If
