Default YS 45

Has anyone tried the recommended YS .45 2 stroke engine? I have been thinking about this for a few days now. I was planning to put my Super Tigre S-61 on it, but it seems that everyone else has found smaller/lighter engines to be more than enough. Maybe too heavy is my biggest concern. The newer G-61 is 19.96 oz. I still have to weigh mine to see what it ways, but I am sure it is 20+ oz. I did have this engine with a tuned pipe on a Hobbico Ultimate .40 size swinging a 12x6 APC a few years back and that combo was incredible, but it would roll it 1/4 round if you went from idle to WOT too fast.

jwatwood did you end up deciding to use the Perry pump on you Ultimate? Are you going to use it on your new one? I have thought about the OS .50SX also, but if I have to pump I may as well go with the YS it seems. BTW, sorry to hear about your plane. My wife is gonna kill me if I crash my Anniversary present in short order.

I cannot afford the YS .63, unfortunately. Besides the idea of adjusting valves on yet another engine is not really appealing.

I can hardly wait to start my DP Ultimate 40.

Thanks
Chris
