I think you're making out the valves to be far more work than they really are. They are simple as can be to adjust, easy to access, and well.... I've never had the valves go far out of adjustment.... I check them after the first hour of run time, and then pretty much forget about them. I pretty much check them at the begining of the season, or when ever I'm just tinkering... It really takes less than 5 minutes.

Once you get a 4 stroke you'll never feel the same about those screaming 2-strokes.
