Trevor, I fly quite a few wings from a mini 20 inch span to a 50 inch span. Zagi's are made pretty tough and will take a beating.
Once you get your elevons moving in the correct direction, adjust them to give a bit of reflex. This means when your radio is on and the stick is centered, the elevons should be just slightly up. Makes the wing easier to launch and it won't dip down on you once you throw it into the air. Also, adjust your control throws to low for your first flights as wings are pretty wicked on full throws if your not used to the model. Lastly, contrary to what a lot of people say, launch the model at full throttle. I've launched this way for over 5 years with pusher type models and have never been sliced by the prop yet. I do this for 2 reasons. 1st, I don't have to fiddle around searching for the throttle lever (plane will have dropped due to gravity after launch) and, your taking the torque effect away from hitting full throttle while the model is flying at low speed.
