Staggerwing
Moodier:
The plane you have is from the RCM Magazine. I have one that was cut from Sid Morgan plans (same plane and size but different designer). I got an email from a guy who built your plane but did not use the foam wings. He said the plane flew well with an OS 91 four stroke. Unfortunately, he had a flame out and was not able to make it back to the field. The damage is reparable.
I think my plane will come in at about 12-14 lbs finished. This will be a bout 28-30 oz/sq ft wing loading so it will definately not be a floater. The full scale planes were pretty hot (fast) and all the info I have gathered on the models says that they are also fast and tend to fall out of the sky on flame out.
I plan to go with at least a 1.20 four stroke as I have one in my Top Flite Cessna and it is pretty reliable.
The picture shows the paint scheme I plan to use. It is a D17 and mine is a G17. There were only 20 G17 models built so the color choice from full scales in very limited.
