hehe, I guess Im the only one with good experiance with these retracts.
I flew my hotspot of grass fields, and have made some very bad landings where the 6mm hardened steel joiner pins just snap clean off.
Even the plastic housings held up to this.
I think my succes with these is contributed in that I used Behotec trailing leg struts.
These are VERY tough. 10 times better than the eurokit struts.
I have hovered/stalled the hotspot abot 80cm off the field, and then it free fell directly onlt the field onto all 3 gears, and there was no damage.
I have run off the runways, and into corn fields a few times at high speed, with only the nose strut bending a little aft.
In the pics below, you can see the silver behotec struts. The black eurokit struts are of very bad quality. As you can see in the pics of my too fast landing, they snaped into bits
The retract units never took any damage.
