RE: Simjet3000 Sucks
I have been on both sides of more than a few stories like this since I work at a LHS and have had to handle warranty issues for customers. I have a Ram 500 that has been a money hole; that if I had used it as soon as I got it I would most likely not have had the flood of money ($2400 purchase price $800 repairs / 7 flights/ broke again / total out lay $3200) going out like I have had with it since all of the failures would have been covered under warranty. However I like yourself did not use the engine as much as I should have during the warranty period to show all of the problems and get them solved and now I have been paying for them out of pocket since Ram is gone and RTI is my only way to repair it. GNM is just a dealer and not the manufacture and has no responsibility to give away their services for the sake of making anyone happy. If a customer who believes that his warranty lasts for ever they are just wrong in that belief no matter how bad of a product they have gotten. You are in a bad situation with this engine and now it has gotten worse for you since the manufacture could have helped you out or not but for sure will not now. I agree with you that the engine should have lasted for the minimum of 25 hours before service but the warranty does state 25 hours or 1 year which ever comes first and your 1 year is up and so is the warranty and any responsibility for them to repair or replace it for free.
