Seems like you should have used the engine in the warrenty time not expecting the warrenty to last over 1 year. There will always be the odd engine that seem to be a "lemon" this is why it "common sense" to use the engine for at least 4-5 hours in the first year of buying. If you don't use the engine in the first year it me it would be "common sense" to leave the money in the bank earning interest and not blame simjet for one that may have slipped through the net and you didn't spot it in the first 4 years of its life. I know that lars would have put it right if it would have been spotted in line with the warrenty period. He runs a business not a charity.
