You might also consider the Turbo Vee3. I just put in a 19 turn motor (AYK 480R) with stock prop a 7 cell battery and it's going around 20-22 mph and still has decent run times. It's so much faster now I had to make bigger turn fins to keep it from spinning out (almost a 360). The boat itself is not expensive and the motor was only $20.00 USD.
