RE: Flair/Jamara Leo Build...
Right....
I flew it today, and i wasnt to happy, so I will start from the beginning:
First thing I did when I got to the field, was range check the leo. I started to go back
and after about 15-20 steps, there was some servo chatter, and the surfaces started moving,
I put the tx ariel 1 stage up, and all was ok. But as I walked with the ariel fully down, sometimes it lost signal, and the servos would go dead. But with the ariel 1 stage up, I thought it was ok to fly. So I just ran the engine, and tuneded it up. But before I flew the leo, I thought it would be a good idea to fly my extra, and see what it was like in the air. So, I range checked that, and all was good, so I took off, and did my normal 3d. But after about 10 mins, one wing started to drop, it was almost unflyable, and the engine was all over the place (i had no control). I had to land, fast. My only option was to cut the throttle, and land down wind. I almost did, but the engine was picking up on its own!, so I missed, I did a sharp turn and the engine died, and the plane just didnt respond to any of my inputs!, before I knew it bang! hit the ground, and totaled the wing!!!
This was my first crash in about 4 years, so I was pissed off.
After calming down, I tried to see what made the wing drop, but I was clueless.
So, I decdied to fly the leo. I taxied to the edge of the strip, opened full power and off it was. Climbing out it was ok, but my first turn was a bit iffy. It just didnt feel right, then it sunndly dropped the right wing 90degres, and either the engine had an air bubble, or the throttle servo moved.!! i corrected it and landed. (Landing the leo was piss easy).
I tried my xtral in another tranny, and it was still fluttering. So im back home with some new xtrals to try and sort the problem.
Any ideas?
