This may actually be relevant to your choice of motor.
Using a 17x10 prop gives very little prop clearance. Only just over an inch! I had tp raise the landing gear about 3/4 inch, from its recessed position to being flush with the bottom of the fuselage.
I wouldnt like to use a smaller prop on this model having tried a 16x10 on the swallow, which was a pound lighter.
I think a 17 is ideal for the model, so if you were going with a lower KV motor, the weight of the 5330 wouldnt be a problem(I dont think the size of the cowling would be aproblem) You would need to up the cells you were using. I think im normally taking around 2.5 to 3 amps out for a spirited 10 minute plus flight(ish) I think i calculated the average current at around 15A. So you certainly could get away with a smaller lipo pack than the 6A that im using.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. I was thinking that I would have to buy some bolly gear for it as I knew there would be ground clearance issues. I'm running the flight power 3700's in a 10s configuration. With the Axi, 22x12prop, my last masters flight I pulled out 2100mah. I'm really happy with the setup. I was thinking of the 5320 for this plane on the 10s pack.
We'll see.
Thanks again,
Chris

Hi there Leo flyers

I am taking delivery of my Leo 110 shortly and plan on using the OS91FX motor. I have read earlier in the thread that someone planned on using the same engine for the Leo. I have not seen comment regarding how it flew with the 91.

I actively participate in aerobatic comps and wonder about the vertical performance of the Leo on the 91.

Any comments welcome....many thanks

I just got my leo 110 and need some advice.

I have these two engine that I can use. Saito 150 (with an inverted slimline smoke pitts style muffler) and an OS 120AX (with the standard power box muffler).

Which engine should I use for my leo? I don't have a perry pump at the moment.

Option 1 (saito 150 with smoke muffler): Shifiting the fuel tank forward and putting a smoke tank at the CG and a smoke pump.

Option 2 (OS120AX): Get a perry pump, tank CG position, but Power box muffler sticking out.

If you fly pattern i'm sure u don't need a visible smoke trail
Smoke is for show fliers and exhibitionists...
i'd suggest to put in te OS120, get a proper header and a tunedpipe and leave the tank at CG.
that's more than enough power and if you do it properly just a little portion of the header sticks out of the cowling.
i think the Saito is too much weight in the nose.

regards,
Zaquron
