Default RE: mounting a gyro

Ok,Ive always mounted them as far forward as possible, away from the mechanics and radio stuff. But Im old school, started out in 1990,stopped from 94 till just this year.I have a JR Venture cp30 that I bought half-assed assembled on Ebay, flies beautifully and the gyro is mounted at the top of the forward frame rail, just about 2 inches in front of main rotor. Its a JR 410t that I couldnt get to act right till I shut off the tail lock.
I also just finished a Century Bell 47g 50 and I put the Futaba 401 at the front of the servo tray.
Would it make any difference in performance to move either of these?
