Default RE: Stihl 044

I thought the performance was superb considering the weight of the airplane. We cut too much material from of the coil mounting bracket and eventually destroyed two coils (high speed resonance of the coil and mounting bracket). Will weigh it and take a picture.

Dug up my old flight notes from 1992 and excerpts are from flight #115 to 145:
22/10 7900 RPM
Tremendous vertical.
Would not slow down on landing.
Straight up to the top and kill switch triggered.
22/12 and slimline – 7100 RPM
Air door raises RPM from 8600 to 8800 RPM on 17 7/8” APC indicating halo is getting away. Need velocity stack or air cleaner.
Fuel consumption is very high.
20oz of fuel will last only about 13 minutes at medium high throttle.
Broken coil changed engine to BR 400 Stihl.
