I have to agree with you on the quality of the plane from what I have read ggc1962. I was going to buy there Edge 540 but decided not to because of three things. The wheel pants, belly pan and the color scheme. If I were to buy it I would have to recover the plane, buy some nice fiber glass wheel pants and a come up with a better belly pan. By the time I would have done all of this, there are a lot of planes out there for that price that already have the top quality parts included. I'd have to say that Vectorflight has a nice plane for someone looking just for a plane that flys very well and their not to worried about the looks.

You wouldn't have much luck with recovering a Vectorflight plane. The covering is some sort of heavy multilayer vinyl stuck to the surface. This covering imparts a lot of strength and rigidity to the airframe and wouldn't come off without wrecking the plane. Not a traditional shrink covering that could easily be peeled off. I think Henry Ford said (about the Model "A") you can get it in any color as long as its black. The same for Vectorflight except for the colors (red and white).
