RE: vectorflight!!!
Removing the covering may not be a big problem with the fuse or tailfeathers but I think that the wing might be a bit more of an issue.
From the VF website:
"At VectorFlight, each wing panel is individually wire cut, not cast molded, from tough foam. Next, channels and cutouts are made for spars, center structure, servo and wires etc. Only carefully selected spars are used for the wing. The wing panels are covered with a heat bonded and pressed laminated skin which fuel proofs and also provides structural rigidity to the wing. The result is a very tough yet light wing."
The strength is in the bonded covering so even if you could remove it without damaging the foam, I suspect you would have to sheet the wing with balsa before recovering in order to maintain the strength and rigidity. Not worth it in order to get a Vectorflight plane that looks different. I might be wrong about this, but I'm not going to try unless I wreck the one I have!
