Default RE: which fuel?

For a new person getting into the hobby the most imortant thing is that they follow the manufacturers recomendations for fuel. In the case of the NT16 use 20% nitro with an 18% SCOB (synthetic castor oil blend).

Bryon's, Wild Cat, and Blue Thunder are about the only independent fuel manufacturers left.
Trinity, Traxxas, XTM, Duratrax, O'donell's and a whole host of others are made by one manufacturer. Any store bought fuel that is 20% nitro with a 18% SCOB is going to be fine.

I have ran in my NT16 Trinity, Traxxas, and O'donell's with no performance difference what so ever.
In my opinion the only problems you are going to have with fuel is if it is garage made or made by a real small manufacturer that is not well known. The quality of the chemicals are all the same the only differance is going to be the quality of the manufacturers facility.

If there is only one brand of fuel that you want a recomendation for I would say O'donells 20% RTR fuel.
