I also installed mine with the output shaft towards the leading edge. I used 9202 Futaba servos and ran the lead through the hole in the wing root closest to the ailerons. I tied the lead to the rear most cardboardtube with a small nylon tie, leaving about an inch and a half of lead sticking out of the wing. By taking the straightest path, I didn't have to use an extension in the wing. I have two three inch extensions with colored ends coming out of the reciever.
