Scouser, Try e-mailing Andrew directly he is the one that drove those trucks.
I would suggest a single speed setup with a 14 or 15 tooth pinion. The 15 tooth is stock on the ST.
30-40wt shock oil, Losi silver springs (3.8lbs spring?) these will mainly depend on the track conditions.
Losi taper pins in the rear and stadium tires up front or the Traxxis Jato tires.
Run the arms level to get the center of gravity as low as possible and lighten up the chassis as much as possible.
An upgrade that would be worthwhile is to replace the bushings in the servo saver with bearings. They use the same size bearings as the clutch bells. This will improve steering response.
I do know that on the race trucks they used a single speed setup and the plastic single speed hub to save on weight.
