dl3740...Thanks for the compliment on "The Duck". Yes....taking the dihedral out of the wing was really pretty easy with the Nexstar.
I retained the metal rod.....but first put it in a vice and bent it. Taking time to only bend a little at a time to get the desired angle.
As for the plastic center piece.....I still retained it.......but.......found that with the dihedral out of the wing it was now much flatter and only
left a little "edge" to attach the factory plastic piece......so......I first drilled holes alone the length of the plastic piece where it attaches to the wing and filled the holes with toothpicks, then breaking them off and sanding smooth. Next....I figerglassed BOTH sides of the plastic piece to each wing........then used bondo filler........sanded smooth and painted it to match the monocote. It really turned out nice and best of all
it is very strong. Also I wanted to keep the factory screw set up for the wing. I hate rubber bands.
