H9 Edge 540
I've got a ZDZ 40cc gasser in my H9 Edge. While it came out a little heavier than I'd have liked, it's still lighter than the projected weight of the GP 'Patty' Extra (they post it as 14-16 lbs, my Edge came in at about 14 with the gas engine..... same wing span, although the Extra does have a bit more wing area).
Anyway, I had a little tip-stalling problem when slowing down for landing. I programmed in a landing mode that puts both ailerons up about 1/8" and just a touch of down elevator to offset the slight pitch-up tendency with the raised ailerons - now it settles right in for a very reasonably slow landing with no tip stall.
I was a little concerned about the 14lb weight until I tried an inverted flat spin...... went REALLY flat - and had a very slow rotation..... throttled up a bit and the descent STOPPED! Didn't go "up", but it stopped coming "down"! And the rotation stayed slow.
As for vertical - unlimited with the ZDZ, and it's still running a bit rich and is not fully broken in. Running an old square-tipped Zinger 20x10 pushing 7000 rpm last time I checked.
