Hi Suitcase,
I guess you're right but I wouldn't lump Morris in with the ones that sold without product on the shelves. When I was there the back warehouse was full to the ceiling with everything. The Yaks sold quickly but we had shipments of them weekly. The problem started with that kit when the fiberglass parts looked like they were gelcoated and painted by a group of kindergarteners. (I take it back........ A kindergarten kid would do a MUCH better job!) Then the word was that this Andrew guy wasn't going to be the distributor for these anymore. Then someone named Brian took over the distribution but wasn't answering his phone or e-mails. The supply started to shrink up and the rest is frustration history. After looking at as many of the Yak kits as I did, I wonder what all the hype was on this kit. It must have flown really well but the quality of the kit itself really stunk up the place. I got into some really strained conversations by phone over this kit and I'm really glad I don't have anything to do with it anymore. People get bent out of shape over their hobby and the very next person to take it on the chin is the person that answers the phone. I tried to be as accomodating as I could while I was there and I had to bite my tongue after getting off the phone with some of the more frustrated people. I also can tell you that once things left the dock, kits were smashed, lost and otherwise mistreated. I saw things double-shipped, never shipped, etc. Now that I'm back on the other side of the fence where I belong I will be a lot more forgiving of mail-order houses and my friendly local hobby shops. I still will answer e-mails about Morris Hobby kits such as the Jerry's Big Boy and Balsa Nova 120's. I own a couple of each of them and think highly of these kits. I also think well of the Kozak family and their business. I'm just back in the lubricant technology business and going to the flying field with a lot more regularity! Keep your nose up while inverted..........
