No good is right Frank... I'm scared to even mention it to dad!
I wouldn't be worried except that it's a KMP/TOC reject knockoff type thing (you guys have heard right?) and I'm worried they;ve run out completely and just charged the credit card but no plane!

... I guess it was pretty late when I first e-mailed them at 5:30.... So no reply should've been expected.. Maybe tomorrow... BUT I wish they had a phone number!

Hi All,
I worked there for about four months and then switched jobs. When Katrina hit, Bob was pressed into service as an insurance adjuster. Now that Rita is striking the coast I'm pretty sure he's hunkered down somewhere getting ready to adjust his way through things. As far as the Yak situation, Bob was having trouble getting KMP or somebody named Brian from TOC to even answer their phone/emails. The trouble with the phone at Morris is a direct problem with the phones in that area. He's not hiding from anyone so just give him a little time to recover from the storm. You may get his right hand man on the phone and he might be a tad swamped. His name is Alberto and he is very knowledgeble in the kitting, laser operations and shipping of product. ( He might have to swim in to work so give him a little time too!!
Terry
PS Bob has his laptop so that might be why he is e-mailing people every so often.

ICE,
I've seen none. The last I heard when I worked there was that somebody named Andy or Andrew was in a cat fight with Bob over payment of ONE kit. Bob was fighting for HIS customers because the cowls and pants for about 10 kits were way too defective. Bob would agree to pay for the kit this guy shipped only when Andrew would make good on the cowls and pants for his 10 customers. I think the cowls and pants were eventually shipped , Bob paid for the one kit, everyone kissed and made up, end of story. The flow of Yak kits were to then come from someone named Brian but the e-mails and phone inquiries went unanswered. That was where things were when I left. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

this seems to be a poor way to do business to me.Too many of these online stores will take orders with no product to send. It all sucks in my opinion.[:@]

Hi Suitcase,
I guess you're right but I wouldn't lump Morris in with the ones that sold without product on the shelves. When I was there the back warehouse was full to the ceiling with everything. The Yaks sold quickly but we had shipments of them weekly. The problem started with that kit when the fiberglass parts looked like they were gelcoated and painted by a group of kindergarteners. (I take it back........ A kindergarten kid would do a MUCH better job!) Then the word was that this Andrew guy wasn't going to be the distributor for these anymore. Then someone named Brian took over the distribution but wasn't answering his phone or e-mails. The supply started to shrink up and the rest is frustration history. After looking at as many of the Yak kits as I did, I wonder what all the hype was on this kit. It must have flown really well but the quality of the kit itself really stunk up the place. I got into some really strained conversations by phone over this kit and I'm really glad I don't have anything to do with it anymore. People get bent out of shape over their hobby and the very next person to take it on the chin is the person that answers the phone. I tried to be as accomodating as I could while I was there and I had to bite my tongue after getting off the phone with some of the more frustrated people. I also can tell you that once things left the dock, kits were smashed, lost and otherwise mistreated. I saw things double-shipped, never shipped, etc. Now that I'm back on the other side of the fence where I belong I will be a lot more forgiving of mail-order houses and my friendly local hobby shops. I still will answer e-mails about Morris Hobby kits such as the Jerry's Big Boy and Balsa Nova 120's. I own a couple of each of them and think highly of these kits. I also think well of the Kozak family and their business. I'm just back in the lubricant technology business and going to the flying field with a lot more regularity! Keep your nose up while inverted..........

Just got off the phone with Morris... Very nice people I thought I was never going to get him to stop apologizing! But he was very nice and offered to get me a Wildhare but I declined.. I'm going to look around though..
Oh I guess i should tell you what happened eh? The guy that was supposed to be supplying the Yaks wound up selling them all on Ebay... So no Yak for me.[:'(]
Don't let this stop you from ordering from morris! I'm actually (if I decide on a wildhare) going to call him back and order one through him![8D]

Ice,
Glad everything turned out for you. We have several Wild Hare Edges and Extras flying at our field in New Waverly, Texas. A couple have DA50's and one has a Zenoah 45. All are rather spunky and do everything in the book. The Hares have a little more weight on them but fly really well. The Yaks fly well but the quality varies from plane to plane. The whole lower fuse and gear area are a weakly built bunch of stringers. (I say "bunch" of stringers......... Not very many and they make the covering job on the bottom of the fuse look crooked. Just an observation.
