I've got my Matrix balanced at around 6 1/2" from the leading edge AT THE FUSELAGE and it seems to fly great. Try to move it there and see how it does. Good luck with this plane. I know that setup may have been difficult but once you nail it in it really flys great. I'm very happy with mine.
