I would still take it over ANY in cowl setup -
FWIW- Mac mufflers may have a header -from aluminum -which could adapt.
The largest dia they have is -as I recall/7/8" dia OD.
If you duplicate the factory setup -stick with their length .
I build most of my headers from KS bits
