If you can get a more modern solid state coil that will fit. That would be the best solution. The conversion kits do the same thing, but add more complexity and cost. Stihl may not have changed the basic coil design. Is the coil mounted on the cylinder? If not you will have to make a bracket anyway, almost any solidstate coil would work with a two magnet flywheel.
