Hi, I have a question regarding a GWS Reciever

I have a futaba 4 channel Radio. I have one plane with a 4 channel reciever and work fine. I just bought a GWS 6 channel Naro Reciever. Model R-6NII/H. I put in a christal for the channel as the TX. However, it does not seem to work. I just wanted to find out, does it matter if I am using a 6 channel reveiver with a4 channel radio. Basically I was thinking if I use the first 4 channels with the reciever, it would not matter and work with the TX. If anyone, know can you let me know.
