RE: I need an engine for a showtime 4D!
Matt...the GMS 1.20 is a decent engine, usually. I have several flyin' buddies with them, and 2 run great, and 2 have had to be worked on a little bit to be reliable.
The problems were a slight air leak around the carb. retaining "pinch" bolt...no biggie really, but I couldn't recommend it without saying something about it to you.
Once we found the problem and siliconed the carb neck and pinch bolt area, we had (have ) a good running engine that'll spin a 16X6 at around 9,500-10,000 r.p.m.
If you're on a tight budget, the GMS 1.20 would probably work out o.k. for ya...at (what is it? ) 135.00 or so it's a good value.
Do a search on the GMS 1.20 and find out what others have to say about them...
You might have to do some checking and looking around to find a muffler that'll work though? I side mounted my O.S. 1.08 so I could use a fairly light (by comparison to the stock O.S. ) Bisson "Pitts" style muffler.
