Looking at the weight of the plane I will say the OS108 would be great fun as it will happily turn a 16x6 @ about 10,000 RPM

FWIW, I have the 1.08 on mine...nice combination. I side mounted it and use a Bisson, Pitts style muffler.
A friend has a TT 1.20 for his...that's a good engine, and less expensive than either of the 2 you mention...but it is a little heavy.
(so is my O.S. 1.08 though )
He hasn't flown it yet, so I can't report on it's power / flying qualities.
The Webra 1.20 is a good 2 stroke, it's light, and "only" about 200 bucks...I have flown a couple of Funtana S90's with those on them and that's a nice combo too...might make a good engine for the ST?

I'm using a YS110. It's an excellent choice. But the way the plane is built you can easily move the servo for the rudder to the tail (already a mount there, and in the fuse, cool) so you can use a heavier engine as well. I think a Saito 150 or even 180 would be good choices. Not24 has an OS160 in his but I think that's way>>>overkill. I think that new OS120 2 stroke looks very interesting. or even a YS140 Sport would work well. I wouldn't go with the OS46LA but that's just me. It really is that good. And flexible. All of the above engines would work and I'm sure a few others too.
Thanks

I am using a GK Satio 150 on mine. I put the rudder sevo in the tail and the balance worked out almost perfect without having to add any weight to it what so ever. The motor fits in the cowl nicely. Its not over powered as bad as you think it would be either. But the satio 150 cost a little more that the OS120 to. Just my thoughts. hw123

Yeah, when did OS start making a 120 in a 2-stroke?
Hopefully, it's a ringed engine with a decent carb. I haven't been too impressed with OS quality lately.

You can run a 4-stroke inverted.
I have problems with 2-strokes--but I've run 4-strokes and seen others run them inverted too.
Just use the OS F plug and tune the low end right. They work great inverted.
Some common problems:
The carb/intake tube tends to get flooded when your fueling--so use a pair of Hemostats or some other clamp to pinch the fuel line going to the carb when your fueling.
Not leaning the low end enough. This is a lot of the problem guys experience with inverted engines.
Having your tank too high above the CL of the carb. If it's close---on a 4-stroke---your gonna be fine. But if the tank CL is more than 3/4" above the CL of the carb--you'll suffer many hours of grief.[&o]
Just use an F plug and try and get the CL of the tank close to the CL of the spraybar. It'll work great.
2-strokes inverted-----don't even get me started[:-]

Thanks

Hey... Can we see a shot under that cowl for the Saito 150 set up? How much did you have to cut out of the firewall.. I am thinking of this combo.

Is the tank setup to be level with the different types of carbs?

Matt...the GMS 1.20 is a decent engine, usually. I have several flyin' buddies with them, and 2 run great, and 2 have had to be worked on a little bit to be reliable.
The problems were a slight air leak around the carb. retaining "pinch" bolt...no biggie really, but I couldn't recommend it without saying something about it to you.
Once we found the problem and siliconed the carb neck and pinch bolt area, we had (have ) a good running engine that'll spin a 16X6 at around 9,500-10,000 r.p.m.
If you're on a tight budget, the GMS 1.20 would probably work out o.k. for ya...at (what is it? ) 135.00 or so it's a good value.
Do a search on the GMS 1.20 and find out what others have to say about them...
You might have to do some checking and looking around to find a muffler that'll work though? I side mounted my O.S. 1.08 so I could use a fairly light (by comparison to the stock O.S. ) Bisson "Pitts" style muffler.
