The extra power is made by the intro circular wind pressure created by the turbulance produced by the cross pattern of the zip ties. This wind pressure creates extra cooling capacity on the surface area on the upper cooling fin of the heat sink. The moral of the story is put as many zip ties on as you can and get ready for some serious horsepower increase.
