Yes the do cross but causes no problems, It worked out that they exit the fuse right where the factory exit slots are so they are crossed. Actually I think your idea would work also but you would have to get creative with the servo mounts. I'm using Hitec HS475 servos for the elevator (60 ounces each) Rather too much than too little. What setup are you using in yours? Mine came out a little on the heavy side with all the extra stuff and my kit had some strangely heavy wood also but at just over 10lbs ready to fly it has no bad habit's and is VERY predictable on the stalls, You can almost see them coming and it stalls at a surprisingly slow speed too. One other thing I would suggest is to laterally balance the plane too, I'm not aware of any issues with this plane dropping a wingtip but mine never drops one wing before the other unless I want it too for a spin. This is the best flying plane I've yet to own. Keep us posted on yours and post some pics of the servo setup, Might be a idea I'll use in another build.
