To remove the oil residue you can spray it with nitro wash. Wiping it off with a paper towel will work also. When I did mine I used hot water and dish soap, and then I blew it all off with compressed air to make sure that it was dry. If you don't have an air compressor you should use nitro spay.
Your LHS should have nitro spay.
